October 11-14 - New Trail, Bohn Lake SIATA, Waushara County  – IAT Thank You!

Thanks to all your efforts, there is now a beautiful new 1.2 mile segment of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail on the Bohn Lake State Ice Age Trail Area. Over 60 volunteers committed 1400 hours of their time to this worthy cause. It took lots of planning, coordination, compliance, teamwork, skill and plenty of food to make this all happen. Its only a few minutes off the Interstate and easy to get to so please take some time to enjoy this wonderful segment.

Each and everyone of you deserves a heart-felt thank you for what you did to make this happen. Special thanks to Constance Downey for letting us use the showers at the nearby bunkhouse. Also, thanks to Debbie Krogwald, Marty Katzmarek and their team of dedicated support volunteers. WDNR property manager Mike Bergum was incredibly helpful and easy to work with for this project. Thanks also to Guy and Pat for their Friday night entertainment of banjo and guitar. The Project Team as always did a superb job – Luke Kloberdanz, Drew Hanson, Barbara Woodhouse and all Crew Leaders - you rock! Major funding for this project was provided by the National Park Services Challenge Cost Share program.

The City of Janesville is looking forward to opening a new segment of the Ice Age Trail in Riverside Park. In order to make this happen, the Mobile Skills Crew will be there next week Thursday through Sunday. If interested in participating, please contact Tim at tim@iceagetrail.org
