The Ice Age Park and Trail Foundation is pleased to welcome and invite
you to be part of the first of six 2007 Mobile Skills Crew events
Thursday May 17th through Sunday noon, May 20th.
Our motto? Work safe, think and play as a team, and have fun.
We have lots of exciting waters to test like: building
timber cribs, a 30’ long bridge, approach ramps and 200 feet of
puncheon; rock work and tread construction; lots of corridor clearing
including garlic mustard, honeysuckle and buckthorn to remove; trail
signage to install, trail stories to tell the surrounding community,
meals and camp needs to attend, and pending resources (you!!), 1½-mile
of additional trail to ‘Sweep’.
Of particular note is a special wetland environment just
south of the Clover Valley State Natural Area that the new section of
trail will interpret.
To help us plan with your needs in mind kindly complete the
attached/pasted below Participant Registration

DIRECTIONS: In the Ice Age Trail Atlas, see map
25e. In the DeLorme Wisconsin Atlas and Gazetteer, see page 29,
coordinates B7.
From the North & West: The city of Whitewater is
your first target. Take I 39/90 to the Highway 59/Milton exit. Go
east. After crossing the Rock River continue about 3 miles and
exit left on County Highway N. Take CTH N east past hwy 26 to the
outskirts of Whitewater. Turn right on the US Highway 12 by-pass. At the
first stop light turn right on Hwy. 89 south. In about 2 miles, take a
left on Anderson Road. Continue straight as Anderson Road becomes
Clover Valley Road and turn right (south) with Clover Valley Road. In
about 2 miles you’ll pass Adam Channings Flowing well on your right –
stop and fill your mug with this magic elixir! Then, take the first
left -still Clover Valley Road- and go to Kettle Moraine Drive. Turn
left. Go about 1/2 mile (past Hi-Lo Road) and turn right on State Park
Road. Almost immediately turn right to the greeter station, set-up at
the Rice Lake Nature Trail/ picnic / boat launch parking area. Check in
there. Camping is at nearby west Whitewater Lake Campground off Hi-Lo
Road. Follow the Yellow & Black IAT Event signs.
From the East: The city of Whitewater is a general
reference. Take 1-43 to East Troy. From East Troy, take Hwy. 20
west to Hwy 12. Take Hwy 12 west to and through LaGrange
(unincorporated), and in a couple miles turn left (south) on County
Highway O. Go 1 mile and turn right on Kettle Moraine Drive (KMD).
Follow KMD about 2 miles, past Hwy P, past Camp Joy, past the DNR
Contact Station, and turn left on State Park Road. See the last 4
sentences above or follow the IAT Event signs.
