In Mid-October finds daylight slips
away like a river in fog. All year we look ahead then suddenly find we’ve
come full circle. So grab a cup of hot coffee and warm clothes; it’s time
to make your way to
Brunet
Island
State Park and open the
“Chippewa River Segment” of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail!
We’ve traveled from Chippewa to the New Wood to Holy Hill; from Table Bluff
and
Lake Michigan and back again. Thanks to
you and hundreds of other volunteers we’ve built or upgraded eleven miles of
the IAT to be a premier hiking
experience this year. Two more miles, miles that knocked us
around in May and said ‘come back when the colors turn’, are calling.
