Ice Age Trail Thru Hike Journal

What a feast!
Hi All,
I picked John up at the trailhead on the north end of
Pike Lake State Park. The look on a thru hikers face when picked up is
amazing, it’s a look of true appreciation and that’s worth a million bucks
to me. As I was getting out of the van Rod an MSC crew leader pulled up to
say hello and to see how Jon was doing. I offered John a beer and he
snapped it up, drank it and it never had time to get warm. We then drove
over to Mike Wollmer’s place for a feast and John was going to spend the
night there, Mike would return him to the trail in the morning. Mike made
a feast fit for a king (and queen, except there wasn’t any around), we had
chicken, dumplings, potatoes, and gravy followed by an excellent pie (not as
good as Barbara’s, hers are the best!). Mike is an outstanding gourmet
cook! Thank you Mike! We talked a bit, got John re-supplied, down loaded
his pics to my laptop, and John made a log entry. John’s log and pics have
been posted to www.iceagetrailmsc.org
. Go check the pics out, like usual they are fantastic!
Happy Trails,
"Biscuit"
PS – John could use some rest – Could anybody in
Waukesha County and all counties south of there host John for an evening
(meal, shower, place to sleep, laundry)? Please let me know.
